People have formed objects with clay for thousands of years, so when you're wrapping your hands around a lump of clay and forming an object, you're holding a piece of history. I believe we have some sort of inherited memory in our hands... you know when you come home with your firstborne baby and you don't have a clue, but somehow you just do the right things anyway... the same goes with clay I think – although the looks of what comes out of your hands might not be accepted by current trends – anyone can make objects

that can fulfill primary needs; a cup for drinking water, a plate to eat from or a simple pot for cooking. Or a flower pot...

I visited Umeå Bonsaisällskap the other day, they wanted some tips on bonsai pot making. Can't say I could help that much as it has been quite a while since I had ceramic courses and a while since I've been doing anything for myself. But at least I took some pictures and I got to wrap my hands around a lump of clay and I must say, it felt sooo good... I love clay!
